Description
This is the culminating project of the semester. You will record a polished 2-minute video presenting your portfolio to a potential employer or freelance client. This video represents you when you are not in the room, make it count.
Learning Objectives
By completing this assignment you will be able to:
- Present your portfolio professionally, concisely, and with confidence
- Show at least 3 projects with clear descriptions of goals, process, and outcome
- Demonstrate consistent professional presentation skills developed throughout the semester
Steps
- Review the feedback from your midterm presentation. This version should be noticeably more polished, more concise, and more targeted.
- Choose at least 3 projects. On at least one, show process work.
- Write bullet points for each project: goals, your role, key decisions, software used. Use these as a guide, not a script.
- Set up OBS. Dress professionally. Neutral background, front lighting, camera at eye level.
- Record your 2-minute presentation. Introduce yourself briefly, walk through your work, end with your portfolio URL and contact info.
- Watch your recording before uploading. Would you hire this person?
- Upload to your school YouTube. Post the link on Discord.
- Submit both the YouTube link and the MP4 file here in Canvas.
Do Not Do These Things
- Apologize for your work or say “this isn’t very good”
- Say “when I graduate”, speak as a professional
- Go over 2 minutes
- Record in a distracting environment
- Show the OBS interface on screen
- Record on your phone
