LinkedIn Profile

This assignment measures Module Objective 6.6, which supports Course Competency 2.

Objectives

Overview

Recruiters look you up. Your profile should say what you do, show your work and make it easy to contact you.

10 points, Exercises. About 2.5 hours.

Instructions

  1. Add a professional headshot, a headline (for example, “Motion Graphics Designer | After Effects and Cinema 4D | Seeking Junior Broadcast Roles”), an About section written in the first person as a professional, your education, relevant skills, and links to your portfolio, Behance or reel.
  2. Set your job-seeking preferences so recruiters know what you are looking for.
  3. Connect with at least three classmates and your instructor, and join one professional group in your field.
  4. Gemini may give feedback on your headline and About section; the wording you keep is yours. Add an AI-use log row.
  5. Students under 16. LinkedIn’s User Agreement does not allow members under 16. If you are under 16, build the same content as a Professional Profile page on your Google Sites portfolio (headline, About section, experience, education, skills and portfolio links), and complete any networking step through the course Discord and the public pages of the organizations you follow. You are graded on the same criteria.

Example

Weak headline: “Student at Glendale Community College.” Strong headline: “Motion Graphics Designer | After Effects and Cinema 4D | Seeking Junior Roles in Broadcast and Commercial Work.”

Accessibility

Write alt text for your banner and any media you attach, and caption any video.

Submission

Upload a screenshot of your completed profile, its link, and your AI-use log row.
