Description
A leave-behind is something you give to a potential employer or client at the end of a meeting so they have something to remember you by. It should be creative, memorable, and consistent with your personal brand identity. This assignment asks you to develop and present a concept before building the final version.
Learning Objectives
By completing this assignment you will be able to:
- Research leave-behind formats appropriate to your industry
- Develop multiple concept sketches for a personal leave-behind piece
- Present your concept on camera and receive peer feedback
Steps
- Look online for leave-behind examples in your industry. See the Pinterest link in this assignment for inspiration.
- Sketch at least 3 different ideas. Make a paper mock-up to test folding and sizing.
- Choose your strongest direction. Your leave-behind must be consistent with your identity brief: same typefaces, colors, and visual language.
- Create in InDesign or Illustrator, or use a template if needed.
- Post your concept sketches and/or a digital draft to Discord. Give feedback to at least 3 classmates.
- Record a short OBS video (1-2 minutes) describing your leave-behind concept, show your sketches, explain your ideas. Upload to YouTube and post the link on Discord and here.
