What it is
The Traveler is Glendale Community College’s student literary and arts magazine, a real annual publication of student writing, art, and photography, produced entirely by students.
Who it’s for
The campus community and the students who make it. It is a genuine publication with a real audience, and back issues are preserved in the Arizona state library’s digital archive.
The goal
Give students authentic, end-to-end publishing experience: soliciting and editing work, designing and setting type, and shipping a finished, printed piece for their portfolio.
How it works
It is student-run from submission to press, guided by faculty advising; Michelle has advised Volumes 44 through 58. The magazine is a multiple Pinnacle Award winner from the College Media Association, national recognition for excellence in student publications.
