You own this now
When this course ends and your Canvas access goes away, almost everything stays behind. Your career agent does not. It is a plain Markdown file on your own computer, and it goes wherever you go. This page is your short guide to keeping it, running it, and making it better over the months and years ahead.
Keep it somewhere safe
- Save your
career-agent.mdfile to a place you will not lose it: Google Drive, Dropbox, or a dedicated folder you back up. - Keep it next to your Render export so your launchpad and your study plan live together.
- Rename it with a date when you make big updates, for example
career-agent-2026-09.md, so you can see how far you have come.
Run it like a routine
- When you sit down to work on your career, open the file and paste it into your AI tool of choice.
- Tell it where you are right now and what you finished since last time.
- Ask for the single most useful next step for the hours you have this week.
- Do the work. Then come back and update the file.
Each AI chat starts fresh and remembers nothing about you. That is fine, and it is the reason this file exists. The file is the part that remembers. You are the one driving it.
Keep improving it
An agent is never finished, because you are never finished growing. Update your file whenever you:
- Finish a task or a course, so you can check it off the self-assessment list.
- Make a new portfolio or reel piece, so you can link it right in the file.
- Learn that the job market wants a new skill, so you can add a module for it.
- Land an interview or a gig, so you can fold what you learned back into the plan.
It works in other tools too. Because your agent is just text, it is not locked to any one app. It works in Claude, and it works in other AI chat tools the same way. You are never stuck. The file is yours, and it is portable on purpose.
How it ties to your Render export
- Your Render dashboard already holds your profile, goals, dream job, saved jobs, and skill gaps. Those are the same inputs your career agent is built from.
- In Render, the final step, Career Agent, builds a personalized learning-plan
.mdstraight from that saved data, so your study plan and your launchpad stay in sync. - When you export your Render dashboard, your portable career-agent file goes with it. You leave the course with a launchpad you own and a living study plan you keep driving.
That is the whole idea of this capstone. You did not just take a class. You learned to build your own, again and again, for whatever you want to learn next.
