Description

When an interviewer asks ‘Do you have any questions for us?’ it is not a formality, it is a test. Candidates who ask thoughtful, researched questions leave a stronger impression than those who say ‘no, I think you covered everything.’

Learning Objectives

By completing this assignment you will be able to:

  • Develop thoughtful, company-specific questions for an employer
  • Demonstrate that you have researched the company and role
  • Deliver prepared questions naturally and professionally on camera

Steps

  1. Watch for inspiration: 20 Questions for the END of Your Job Interview (YouTube).
  2. Choose the same company you researched in the Interview Research assignment (or another role you are targeting). Use your research to develop questions specific to that company.
  3. Prepare 2 questions. At least one should reference something specific about the company.
  4. Open OBS and record yourself asking both questions as if the interviewer just said ‘Do you have any questions for us?’
  5. Upload to YouTube and submit the URL here.

Example

Questions that make a strong impression:

  • “I read that your studio recently expanded into interactive media, how is the animation team working with that side of the business?”
  • “What does success look like in the first 90 days for a junior animator in this role?”
  • “How does feedback typically work between the art director and the animation team on a project?”

Avoid questions about salary, benefits, or anything you could find in 30 seconds on their website.
