Description

Knowing how to answer interview questions and actually being able to answer them smoothly are two different things. Practice is the bridge. This assignment introduces specific preparation techniques you can use before your mock interviews.

Learning Objectives

By completing this assignment you will be able to:

  • Identify structured preparation techniques for job interviews
  • Apply at least one technique to your own situation
  • Reflect on areas where you need the most practice

Steps

  1. Watch: Interview Prep Series, Part III: How to Practice (YouTube). Closed captions available.
  2. Write a paragraph (5-8 sentences) here in Canvas covering: one specific technique from the video you plan to use, why that technique fits your situation, and one question you feel least prepared for right now.

Example

The STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is one of the most consistently effective interview frameworks. Practice it on these common questions before your mock interviews:

  • “Tell me about a time you had to meet a tight deadline.”
  • “Describe a project you are most proud of.”
  • “How do you handle feedback or criticism of your work?”

How to Submit

Write your reflection directly in the Canvas text entry box.
