Your Brand Step 6: Press-Ready Business Card

Objectives

1. 5.4 Apply your identity to a press-ready business card and a three-panel Instagram campaign built on one grid. (Course Competency 2; Apply)

This assignment measures Module Objective 5.4, which supports Course Competency 2.

Overview

Executing final art means delivering a file a printer accepts without calling you back. No paper is turned in; the file is assessed on whether it would print correctly.

Instructions

1. Design a business card (3.5 by 2 inches) in InDesign using your identity.
2. Build it to spec: 0.125-inch bleed, crop marks, CMYK, images at 300 ppi effective resolution, fonts embedded.
3. Run Preflight (Window, Output, Preflight) until it reports no errors. Screenshot the panel.
4. Export a press-ready PDF.

Turning it in

1. Post your work to #avc183-graphic-design-1 on Discord as PNG or JPG, with alt text, by noon the day before the due date.
2. Comment on three classmates’ posts. Each comment names one design principle (or, in Module 4, one brand rule) and points to where it appears in the work.
3. Screenshot your post and your three comments and compile them on one Miro board.
4. Submit the Miro screenshot, the PDF and the Preflight screenshot to Canvas by noon on the due date.
