Overview
This quiz checks that you know how the course runs before the first project begins. Read Start Here, Course Information and AI in This Course first. You may retake the quiz until the due date.
Instructions
The quiz covers:
- The two weekly deadlines, the noon due time, the 24-hour late window at 10 percent, and the hard close.
- When work is posted to Discord, and how many critique comments are required (three).
- The three grading groups and their weights.
- The two rules that hold all semester: sketch by hand before the computer, and never stretch or distort type.
- In this course, when is using AI not cheating? (It is assigned, disclosed in the AI-use log, and graded on your own thinking.)
- Which account must you use for Gemini, and why? (Your Maricopa account; what you enter is not reviewed by people or used to train models.)
- What does AI do in this course, and what does it never do? (Research, writing, feedback and planning; it never designs. The Design History project is the one stated exception.)
AI use
No AI use. Answer from the course pages. Record every use in your AI-use log. Gemini is used only with your Maricopa account.
